Obituary of Nancy E. Shrader

Nancy E. Shrader of Englewood, FL passed away on October 26 with her husband Charles and daughter Melissa by her side.

She was the daughter of Joseph O’Neill and Grace Dewherst of Queens, NY.

She graduated from Pawling High School in Pawling, NY the went to Albany Business College and Empire State College for a degree in Business Administration. Nancy worked as an Accountant and Administrator for firms including Fruhauf Trucking, Mobile Oil, Albany Academy, Albany Dept. of Social Services, St. Anne Institute and NYS Tax & Finance. She retired from the NYS Comptroller’s Office in 2008.

Nancy married Charles Shrader in August 1976. When daughter Melissa arrived in July 1988, she was the center of attention.

Nancy will be missed by her many friends and relatives. She is survived by three sisters: Eileen Sinnick (Mike), Susan O’Neill and Carol Herring (Donald) and a brother Jerry O’Neill (Helen as well as the Shrader family brothers: Bill, Bob, John, Jim, Mike (Debbie), Don (Beth) and Dave and sisters: Claudia Honey Glissen, Marianne, Josephine (Brian) and Catherine Murphy (Chris).

Nancy loved to be active: swimming, cooking, crafts and travel with annual trips to Cape Cod and St. Simons Island Georgia for over 40 years. She had also visited England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Holland, France, Italy and Switzerland. She truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren: Livy, Liam and Penelope was her favorite with swimming and visits to Englewood beaches, doing crafts, painting and gardening.

Nancy and Charlie moved from Colonie, NY to Englewood in 2008and loved spending time with Tim and Lyn Weiamantle, Terry and Sue Tymann, Joe and Terry Schultz and Clair and Tom Trager.
