Obituary of Cheryl Jean Miller

Cheryl Jean (Minor) Miller left us on November 13, 2020, after a short but courageous bout with COVID- 19. Cheryl was the daughter of Arthur and Ilah Minor, who preceded her. She loved growing up on the family farm and joining her beloved dad with the chores. Cheryl is survived by her brother George (Kathy) Minor, sister Patricia (Nile) Halbert and nieces and nephews. In addition, Cheryl is also survived by her husband and love of her life Gary, of 31 years. Also, her only daughter, Nicole (Randy) Hook; step-daughter, Jenny (Jake) Hefner. Surviving grandchildren Jensen Clark, Peyton Clark (Corey Evans), Rachael Hook, Serena Hook, Jonathan and Natalie Hefner. Cheryl was blessed to be a great "Nana" to her precious Greyson Clark-Evans. Cheryl leaves many close and long-standing friends, who will miss her greatly. Cheryl graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1969. Following graduation, she married Greg Cady, who preceded her in death. She trained to become an executive secretary but found her life's calling as a sales/customer service representative for EPI, where she worked for just over 30 years. She was an accomplished cook and loved to can and preserve Michigan's summer fruits and veggies. Her real passion was golf. She enjoyed the game with Gary and the annual trips with the "golf girls". These trips were legendary and involved as much laughing as golfing. Her greatest golf achievement was a hole in one on #6 at Marywood Golf Course. Over the past years she, Gary and their beloved Doc wintered in Englewood, Florida. She was proud and honored to serve the Lemon Bay Isles community as President of the home-owners board and she enjoyed planning and coordinating numerous community activities. Cheryl loved life, lived it to the fullest, smiled and laughed as often as she could. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and memorial plans will be announced at a later date. For those wishing to honor Cheryl's memory, contributions can be made to Habitat for Humanity, the Charitable Union of Battle Creek, Michigan or to your local food bank.
