Obituary of David Knapp

David W. Knapp, 70 of Port Charlotte, FL passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009. He was born July 2, 1938 in Rootstown, OH to Raymond and Lela Knapp. David worked many years for Wicks Lumber and then National Merchandising before moving to Florida in 1985. David then went to work hanging hurricane shutters and retired from Rollsafe to become an excellent caregiver to his wife of 52 years. Survivors include his wife; Carole (McNeil) Knapp: four children; Randy (Jeanie) Knapp of Brimfield, OH., David (Sherry) Knapp of Port Charlotte, FL., Jeff (Brenda) Knapp of Port charlotte, FL and Julie (Marion) Christy of Port Charlotte, FL. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, his father Raymond of Ravenna, OH: two brothers; Ronald (Barb) Knapp of Ravenna, OH and Rich (Beth) of Ann Arbor, MI. David was pre-ceded in death by his mother; Lela. In lieu of flowers contributions in David's name may be made to Charlotte County Senior Services.
